LandSouth Breaks Ground on The Related Group’s Latest Luxury Tampa Apartments

TAMPA, FL – LandSouth Construction, a Jacksonville, Fla. based general contractor specializing in multifamily, senior housing and mixed-use developments, broke ground on Town Westshore at Marina District, a 396-unit waterfront community being developed by Miami-based developer, The Related Group.

The luxury mid-rise apartments are being designed by MSA, a Miami-based architectural firm, and are slated for completion in the summer of 2019.

“Developments like Town Westshore are positioned to take advantage of the continued popularity, job, and population growth in the region,” noted LandSouth President and CEO James Pyle. “The Westshore Marina District is adding more options to the local housing market at a critical time. Bay area rents and home prices have soared, and there’s little to no inventory available, particularly on the waterfront.”

Town Westshore is one of four Related projects in the Tampa Bay area and is a part of a broader push into the Central Florida region by the developer. These projects are directed by Related’s Central Florida office and include Manor Riverwalk, Icon Harbour Island, Icon Central, Town Maitland among others.

“We see enormous potential in Tampa and are proud to be playing a role in the area’s rapid growth. We’ve built a reputation for creating projects that complement the surrounding area’s existing character and look forward to improving the region’s already high standard of living,” said Jeffrey Robbins, Vice President of Development for Related.

“This will bring us up to four projects we have been part of in the Tampa area in the past year and we don’t anticipate it slowing down. Tampa is embracing the demand for multifamily and mixed-use living which is driven by their growing millennial population,” said Joe Passkiewicz, LandSouth Construction, Senior Vice President of Development.

Proximity to the Crosstown Expressway and bridges to the Beaches and St. Petersburg will allow residents easy access to Downtown Tampa, The Tampa Aquarium, Amalie Arena, home of the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning and sold-out concerts, and Raymond James Stadium where the NFL Tampa Bay Bucs play and host to mega-events.

Residents will be able to choose from 11 spacious floor plans that will range from studio to three bedrooms. Each apartment home will feature luxurious fixtures and have access to shared amenities such as a waterfront walkway, fitness and yoga studios, saunas, massage treatment rooms, E-lounges, executive dining rooms and concierge services. Shopping, dining and a marina within walking distance is on the drawing board creating a true place to live, work and play on 51-acres.

In its 20-year history, LandSouth Construction has completed more than 15,000 multifamily units, including apartments, senior living, condominiums, and townhomes.

LandSouth Construction is currently working on apartments and mixed-use developments throughout the Southeast including Lawrenceville, Ga., Boynton Beach, Daytona Beach, Delray Beach, Sanford, Lakeland, Davenport, Casselberry, Odessa, Winter Springs and Orlando Fla., Chattanooga, Tenn., Mt.
